Hoya, Hoya Wildcat Nation, from the Mighty Lakota.
Lakota would like to thank the entire Wildcat Nation. Your contributions to our donation drive for the Encinitas Community Resource Center will make a positive difference in our community. On Sunday after the dance, Lakota was able to deliver many boxes of items to the Center’s Holiday Baskets program at the Del Mar racetrack (a truly noteworthy and special program, please check it out).
Your giving of items will allow many kids and families the chance to receive things they otherwise would not be able to have. Giving to others is a privilege, not a duty. Giving frees us from the familiar territory of our own needs by opening our mind to the unexplained worlds occupied by the needs of others. Kudos Wildcat Nation, how lucky we are to be able to help.

The Father/Daughter dance was once again a hit. Lakota started the night off by meeting at a local restaurant and feasting on chips, quesadillas, fajitas, and of course, ice cold …diet coke. At the dance, after the “lean your head a little and put your arm here” formal photographs, the boogie was on. I’m sure I am not the only one who thought frequently of going to the car to grab a cheetah girls cd (non-scratched and skip-free), given how difficult it was to get my daughter fired up and dance crazy while listening to the Righteous Brothers sing “You’ve lost..los..los..that..that..that ..lovin’ fee..fee..fee..fee..feeling”. Nevertheless, a fantastic time was had by all, reminding us once again about how lucky we are to be alive and with family and friends.
On that note, from Lakota to the whole Nation, we wish everyone a fantastic holiday and new year. And keep your fingers crossed that Ullr will bestow on us a bunch of the white stuff for the upcoming Big Bear trip.
